Ingram Strategic Limited was formed a couple of years ago to handle as a sub-contractor, the Information Systems business of Inoac Software Limited. Inoac Software is a member of the Inoac Rubber Corporation which is base in Hong Kong, subsidiary of a Japanese International conglomerate with 70 offices in nineteen countries all over the world having an annual global revenue topping US $2 billion. Through out the years Inoac Rubber has been one of the major driving forces behind the success of the Japanese automobile industry through the development and supply of superior and Inoac automotive products. Since the Fifties, Inoac began producing soft polyurethane foam for headliners, followed by molded seats and instrument panels in the Sixties. Since the Inoac Rubber has developed its own sophisticated process technology to assure the world class quality required in automotive components today. It is also renowned for its powder-slush surfacing of instrument panels. Inoac Rubber is also on the fast track in the rapidly growing information processing and electronics sectors, thanks to the many materials pioneered by an expertise in high polymers developed over long years of research.

Crucial to each of the many products is the family of Inoac Rubber's technologies which enable the exclusion of electromagnetic interference (EMI), to provide precession molding of ultra-thin housings and to bring out the very best in various resin materials. Innovative rollers for office equipment, for example, vary in terms of cell density, friction level chemical resistance and wear resistance according to application. In electronics Innovative copper-clad laminates and sound absorbent materials and elastomer connectors have carved out a niche for themselves. All of which puts Inoac second to none on developing components with the total sophistication, multifunction and high-density assembly features called for in twentieth-century electronics. Today, the group's activities range from plastics and rubber manufacturing, property development to provision of computerized information systems. In the past few years, the Hong Kong office has been providing systems to major Japanese enterprises including several bankers who ranked among the top ten in the world.

Other systems customers include renowned names like Mitsubishi Group, Sumitomo Group, Matsushita Electric, Nomura Group, Seiko Group and others. In recent years, Inoac group has embarked on massive expansions through out the Southern China region including Hong Kong. It has projects underway to build automated factories with overall cost in excess of US $ 300 million. The automation has helped the group to consistently maintain a very low staff count compared to other similar operations. Inoac Software used to sub contract most system projects to other firms and acted as a coordinating entity rather than a real information system provider. Lack of direct over its subcontractors means inaccessible project status and occasional disputed over quality, scope of work as well as delivery schedules.

And hence in its desire to maintain quality and efficiency in managing projects, Ingram Strategic was subsequently conceived with share holding and constitution of board of directors essentially distinct from that of Inoac Software's. The senior managements of the two firms are, however, closely interrelated. Despite the seeming obscurity of its corporate identity from real end-users, Ingram has staff and management which have decades of experience in information technology and development of mission critical application for corporate users. They market mainly through Inoac Software, but the top management of the two firms are virtually identical.

Ingram Strategic's main business has been on computer software and consulting business if custom made Mission Critical Applications. It has Chartered Accountants, Certified Systems Auditors, Certified IS professional and Chartered Engineers as consultants serving its customers.
